Hollywood Glam Mood Board

I am working on a bedroom makeover for a first year college student.  She is living at home in her childhood bedroom and is looking for an update to help transition her into this new phase of life.

The main goal is to tone down the paint color from a very jarring pink to a soft champagne pink {I'll include before pictures when we get to the install}.  Along with lightening the walls I'm bringing in a Hollywood Glam feel, but we'll keep it fun with some brighter accessories.

I found a wonderful fabric for the curtains, a thick linen with an intricate black velvet trellis pattern.  A similar one can be found here.  The headboard will be a DIY project and covered in a shimmery silver dupioni silk, similar to this one.  I'll provide details of my process when it's finished.  I'm on the lookout for a nicely detailed dresser to paint in a silver, or apply silver leaf if I'm feeling ambitious.  

I'm really looking forward to how this will turn out, it will be quite the transformation.

  

Office Inspiration

What better way to start a blog than share what I wish my office space looked like?

I love the bookshelves lining the whole room with a built in computer desk.  I can see sketches and material samples laid out on that beautiful wood table.  And when I'm waiting for inspiration to strike, I would probably be gliding along the walls on that old library ladder.

But, alas, I am sitting here at my dining room table because our office has been taken over by extra boxes, my wedding dress waiting to be sold, and piles of Scuba gear.

A girl can dream, right?
